The Production Supervision Manager manages the daily operation for the repair/modification of aviation electrical power generation and conversion assets for a variety of military and civil customers with an hourly workforce of 30 associates.
This department is unique in that it requires a candidate to be able to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams of engineers, quality, and material specialist to achieve product quality, cost, and output metrics. The successful candidate will have a history of practical problem solving, a background in operations to include material management, repair station readiness and workforce development.
Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Dayton—known widely as the birthplace of aviation—where the Wright Brothers built the world’s first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history, in operation for over 100 years. At over 140,000 square feet, the Vandalia facility rests on 27 acres right off Interstate 75.
At GE Aerospace in Vandalia, we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of military and commercial customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.
Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
Oversight and management of front-line repair station employees involving:
+ Oversight and management of hourly direct reports consisting of approximately 30
+ individuals
+ Pay and time keeping
+ Prioritization of work
+ Drive continuous improvement activities for the team
+ Provide mentorship and coaching to subordinates and peers alike
+ Focus on tactical goals while not losing sight of strategic priorities
+ Develop strategies to achieve deliverables/meet customer needs
+ Manage labor capacity and hire as workflow dictates
+ Maintain training certifications and ISO audit certification
+ Develop solutions within a “Lean” culture and team setting to achieve organizational goals
+ Engage peers and workforce to develop projects that impact the productivity of the team
+ Work cross functionally to achieve customer priorities while achieving business metrics
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Manufacturing)
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing

+ This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
