This position is responsible for processing, scheduling and admitting all eligible applicants into the Minnesota Veterans Home-Luverne skilled nursing facility. Direct the operational and administrative functions of the admissions team. Supports social services and directly meets with residents to support their needs.
_This position is designated as part-time. The work schedule will include 40 hours per two-week pay period. The position is initially eligible for a partial employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits._
Minimum Qualifications
Skills in:
+ Word processing sufficient to use software, such as Microsoft Word, to type and format letters, memos, reports, and minutes of meetings
+ Desktop publishing software such as Microsoft Publisher sufficient to create communication materials
+ Spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel, to enter and manage resident information for admissions
+ Customer service sufficient to answer phones, respond to resident questions/concerns, meet with resident families, guide residents through the application process, and coordinate admissions meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in long term care admissions process
+ Experience working in long term care
+ Experience in public speaking
+ Understanding of HIPPA sufficient to maintain private data
+ Ability to work within a team and independently
+ Ability to understand and follow strict guidelines
Additional Qualifications
The selection process may include the following:
+ A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
+ A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
+ Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
