POSITION SUMMARY
The Data Manager oversees and maintains the integrity of data and data systems within the Quality Department. They ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and ad-hoc Quality Operations reporting data related, but not limited to, patient experience, risk management, environment of care, infection control, emergency management, and health information management. They are an integral part of data-driven reporting and projects within the Quality Operations Department and Wheeler. The Data Manager is responsible for the organization, maintenance, review, validation, and timely provision of data related to various departmental and organizational processes, activities and initiatives. The Data Manager supports various Quality Council committees, teams, and projects, as assigned, and within the scope of their role. The Data Manager similarly provides support and management of data related to the assigned functions of the Central Records Unit including but not limited to overall work volume and staff productivity in the areas of medical record requests, scanning, and referral management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required. Must have at least 3 years of experience in the areas of data management, data analysis, or data administration within a healthcare or human services setting. May substitute 3 years of experience in data-driven performance improvement, quality assurance or risk management. Must have EHR experience. Must have advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft related software. Experience working in an integrated (multi-specialty) care organization is preferred. Familiarity with performance improvement, quality assurance, and NCQA PCMH standards is preferred.
Salary $65,000

Bristol, CT- Not a remote role candidate must live in state and be able to travel to Bristol

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the data integrity of the following quality improvement data systems (e.g., Patient Experience Survey System, Event Reporting System) and extrapolates data for specific deliverables related to quality outcome measures and licensing/accreditation/certification expectations.
Ensures the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and ad-hoc Quality Operations reports/data related to but not limited to, patient experience, risk management, environment of care, infection control, emergency management, and health information management. Corrects inaccurate or incomplete data, as needed.
Provides data to departmental staff by designing reports, dashboards and score cards or spreadsheets that accelerate the process of data analysis and reporting, and translate raw data into actionable insights.
Collaborates with clinical, administrative, and Quality Department team(s) to educate staff on proper data entry and management practices and data quality expectations. Maintains written protocols and/or training material related to data reporting and management.
Participates in specific, or data-driven projects within the Quality Operations Department and Wheeler to ensure data accuracy.
Plans and manage the implementation and upgrades of quality data systems, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
Ensures data flows smoothly between the Quality Operations Department and other Wheeler departments and external governmental/regulatory or accreditation reporting systems.
Periodically analyzes quality data needs/use and identify opportunities and implement solutions to promote efficiency and data integrity within the Quality Operations Department.
Serves as the primary contact for integration of processes and data flow, collaborating with the Information Technology Department.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
