Job Summary and Qualifications

+ Responsible for planning, organizing, delegating, directing, negotiating and evaluating services delivered by the Adult Critical Care departments and personnel based on the hospital mission, vision and facility goals.

+ Collaborates and coordinates with other department leadership personnel, for the functions and activities of nursing care performed in adult critical care in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards for the professional practice of nursing and administrative policies.

+ Maintains effective communication.

+ Develops and recommends policies, procedures or programs to improve or enhance the quality, safety, efficiency and/or effectiveness of patient care within the specialty area in collaboration with medical staff and other disciplines.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

+ Bachelor’s degree in nursing required: advanced degree preferred.

+ Five years’ experience in progressive management, preferable in a hospital setting with experience to include:

1. leadership of personnel

2. payroll

3. budget development

4. capital planning

5. business planning

6. marketing

7. building physician relationships

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

+ Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license required.

+ Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider required.

+ Current America Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS provider required.

+ CCRN and/or CNRN preferred.

Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals are hospitals for specialized advanced cardiovascular and spine care. The facilities are located near Medical City Dallas. They are designed to be efficient and result in faster recoveries. We offer an enhanced patient experience. Patients will benefit from leading edge treatments and technology. The facility provides a wide array of cardiac services. Services include complex vascular and heart surgery and advanced heart failure treatment. We offer minimally invasive vascular surgery and other specialized heart care. The facility has a dedicated cardiac emergency room. Medical City Spine Hospital has 25+ beds. It provides spine care for common spine disorders. Spine care is also provided for rare, hard-to-treat spinal deformities. Those include adult and pediatric scoliosis and spondylolistheses. We offer complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options.
