Job Summary and Qualifications
As Supervisor of Phlebotomy at our facility you will have the opportunity to lead a highly functioning team that supports many different departments throughout the hospital and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:
+ You will oversee the general operation of the front office, reception, outreach facilities, and phlebotomy staff in their designated job functions.
+ You will maintain competency in phlebotomy and work in phlebotomy on a regular rotation.
+ You will demonstrate leadership and set an example as related to Ethics and Compliance and the Code of Conduct, reinforce the organization’s policies, standards and values, and hold all staff accountable to these standards.
+ You will be responsible for the fair distribution of work assignments and duties, ensuring sufficient qualified personnel available to fill the needs of each shift.
+ You will participate in the selection and hiring of all phlebotomy and reception staff and ensure new staff and students receiving appropriate training and mentoring.
+ You will assist the Laboratory Director in performing annual performance appraisals for phlebotomy staff.
+ You will write, review, and edit policies for the office and phlebotomy areas to maintain consistency with facility goals and regulatory compliance.
+ You will establish and build relationships with outside clinics and physicians to support physician engagement and satisfaction with laboratory service.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
+ Phlebotomy, MA, CLA, MLT, CLS or equivalent certification preferred.
+ Supervisory experience preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written.
+ Strong problem solving, management, prioritization, and leadership skills.
+ American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
+ This position is required to successfully pass a color blind test.
