Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of Cardiovascular Services is responsible for the leadership, successful operations, and quality of Cardiac Services and Interventional Radiology.
The Director provides leadership for the multi-disciplinary committee involved in the over site of the care of the ACS patient. This position assists in the planning, development and implementation of program goals and operations to promote excellence in cardiac patient care.
Job Summary:
+ Facilitates the integration and teamwork of all Cardiac Departments to include Interventional Radiology for optimal care of patients.
+ Assists with the development of strategic plans for the growth of Cardiology and IR Services.
+ Works closely with the Emergency Room and with EMS to assure optimal continuity of care from pre-hospital to hospital for cardiac patients.
+ Assists in education of clinical staff and EMS to assure evidence based care in the treatment of ACS and AMI patients. Assists in education of new employees in the mission and vision of the facility related to chest pain patients and educates them regarding chest pain certification.
+ Works collegially with the Senior Leader for Quality to assure metrics are in place to show continuous improvement in the care of the ACS patient.
+ Acts as a resource both internally and externally regarding educating others about the ACS patient.
+ Works in conjunction with the facility administrative staff and the Cardiac Services Medical Director to ensure the highest level of care for patients, and ensures that all services provided meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
+ Works with physicians to adopt and incorporate quality initiatives, understand economic considerations, and increase physician/hospital alignment.
+ Responsible for development of strategic and tactical plans to maximize the effectiveness of Cardiac Services at the facility. This includes budget planning and management (capital and operational).
+ Responsible for ensuring that Cardiovascular Services are performing in conjunction with the mission and values of the facility and of HCA, including participation in goals and processes derived from HCA-CCMN initiatives.
+ Performs such other duties as reasonably requested by or otherwise necessary to properly assist the operations of the Cath Lab.

Hospital and Department Policies and Procedures
+ Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines and protocols. Supports the hospital mission, vision, and values, as well as those of HCA and HCA-CCMN.

+ Adheres to hospital/department personnel policies. Acts as a role model in these policies for staff.
+ Is competent and responsible in following safety and security policies of the hospital.
+ Conducts all interactions and service in keeping with institutional and corporate ethics and compliance policies.
Education:
Required:
+ Bachelor Degree
+ Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or an accredited school or program for Radiological Technology
Preferred:
+ BSN and/or Master’s degree preferred (MSN, MBA, or MHA)
Licensure:
Required:
+ Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist with ARRT
+ BLS
+ Current ACLS
Preferred:
+ Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia
Experience
Required:
+ Minimum of 3 years in Cardiovascular Services, with at least half of those years in Cardiovascular leadership (prefer in a program with full Cardiovascular services)
Preferred:
+ Minimum of 5-7 years in Cardiovascular Services, with at least half of those years in Cardiovascular leadership (prefer in a program with full Cardiovascular services)
