Position: Esthetician Lab Assistant
Department: Division of Business, Industry, and Technology
Reports to: Program Chair for Cosmetology and Divisional Academic Dean
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. No State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities:
+ Assists faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction.
+ Assists faculty with the supervision and mentoring of students during scheduled lab sessions or tutoring sessions, as needed.
+ Assists faculty with maintaining a clean and safe lab environment.
+ Performs routine maintenance on equipment, as instructed.
+ Assists with inventory maintenance and requisition of supplies.
+ Obtains materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials.
+ Completes ALL required employee trainings.
+ Meets with students, staff members, supervisors, as needed.
+ Assists with special projects or initiatives, as needed.
+ Performs other work-related duties as assigned by program chair.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Diploma in Cosmetology or a related field.
+ A valid Georgia Master Cosmetologist License or Georgia Esthetician license.
+ One (1) years’ work experience in the Esthetics industry.
+ Ability to assist a day and/or evening class.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate’s degree or higher.
+ Three (3) years’ work experience in the Esthetics industry with a focus on the following: Treatment Room Set Up, Infection Control Procedures, Preventive Facial Treatments, Advance Facial Treatments, Advanced Hair Removal, Expert in Glamour Techniques.
+ Experience providing makeup application in film, TV, and/or commercial settings, including film industry special effects.
+ Additional certifications in skincare services or makeup artistry.
+ Knowledge with NIC licensure exams.
