The Denials Management Coordinator is a competent, experienced professional that fulfills their role with little supervision while demonstrating growing skill and ability resulting in excelled practice autonomy. This individual serves as a primary resource to obtain information and data essential in coordinating the recovery efforts for denials received by processing accounts in the patient accounting system(s), routing inpatient and outpatient denials to the proper business office colleague for resolution, analyzing daily denial reports and entering data into a denial tracking system. This position fills a vital role in the identification of system issues causing denials and participates in the Denials Management Team efforts for improvement processes and projects ongoing to resolve denials and rejections.

Responsible for compiling, formatting and displaying accurate data using various reporting tools that contributes vital information conducive to established and aligned strategic goals of the Revenue Cycle. Demonstrable knowledge of complex data validation is essential.

The coordinator collaborates with departments within the Revenue Cycle and health system including but not limited to other departments of support, clinical operations and finance. He/she will assist in providing solutions for the betterment of the organization with a thorough understanding of technical and professional denials received in various stages of the Revenue Cycle.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.

• Associate's degree or higher degree preferred.

• 3+ years' health care experience with patient accounting systems, including medical billing, collections, accounting and customer service desired.

• Experience with claims billing in commercial or governmental payer environments is preferred.
