The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's Division of Child, Youth, Family Services has an exciting employment opportunity for aChild Welfare Chiefto work in ourCaldwelloffice with the responsibility of practice standardization. This position will directly supervise child welfare safety supervisors in Region 3 and will provide clinical social work program review, direction and consultation for the Child Welfare Program within the Region 3. The position, along with the Field Services Program Manager, will monitor continuous quality assurance and delivery services and assure compliance with child welfare standards and laws and provide supervision, staff development, consultation and training to regional child welfare and clinical supervisory staff.
This position may be eligible for telework after successful completion of probation and necessary training. Approval to telecommute is not guaranteed and subject to termination at any time.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
+ Manage quality improvement reviews, monitor and evaluate continuous quality assurance and improvement plans to address practice issues to meet Adoptions and Safe Families Act (ASFA) guidelines
+ Analyze data and assure cases meet ASFA outcomes as measured by Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and concurrent review tools
+ Report outcomes and develop strategies to address identified program needs
+ Assure standards are met within context of family-centered practice to achieve safety, permanency and well-being of children in the child welfare system and that each office has necessary tools and monitoring practices to ensure ASFA and CQI outcomes are accomplished
+ Determine case priorities, disposition and direction
+ Make decisions regarding placement, clinical course and treatment expenditures for youth in residential treatment facilities
+ Receive consultation regarding state child welfare policy and standards from Central Office Staff, p rovide consultation and guidance to regional staff on best practice philosophy and standards and fiscal guidance for case expenditures, and provide consultation and training to child welfare staff and assure new staff receives standardized training regarding State standards.
+ Provide clinical insight and child welfare consultation to child welfare clinical staff surrounding client progress and treatment modality.
+ Conduct workshops and seminars and establish working relationships and service partnerships with community partners. Exchange regional information with other Regional Chiefs and may provide oversight of pilot projects. Respond to inquiries and address concerns of university and community partners, service providers and families.
+ Supervise social work students assigned to children and family services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. + Licensure as a master’s level Social Worker in Idaho in accordance with Idaho Code 54-3201 et. seq.
OR
+ An applicable bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and agreement and reasonable ability to obtain a master’s degree in social work and licensure in Idaho in accordance with Idaho Code 54-3201 et. seq. within 36 months of hire.
And
+ Experience p roviding child welfare, child protection or child mental health services withing a multidisciplinary service delivery system. Typically gained by at least one year of experience providing child welfare, child protection or child mental health services within a multidisciplinary service delivery system.
+ Experience supervising professional staff involved in child welfare/protection work. Typically gained by at least one year of experience supervising child welfare and clinical staff.
+ Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
