CONTROLLER ROLE WITH PLANS TO GROOM FOR CFO POSITION.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee their daily financial operations and ensure accuracy in all accounting processes. This role requires a hands-on leader who will work to understand the details of the accounting functions, and the business as a whole, to recommend and implement process improvements, segregation of duties, and strong internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, Billing, and outsourced payroll

• Will have hands on responsibility for general ledger management, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial reports to support decision-making processes.

• Lead the preparation of income statements and other key financial documents.

• Assist with budgeting processes and forecast future financial performance.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of bank reports, regulatory filings, and internal reporting requirements.

• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

• Evaluate and improve current accounting operations, processes, and internal control systems.

• Recruit, train, and manage a team of four accounting staff while providing support during absences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (CPA, CMA, MBA) are preferred.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management roles.

• Strong proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.

• Demonstrated expertise in preparing financial statements, managing month-end close processes, and performing account reconciliations.

• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess and improve financial operations.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly
