    Pittsford is a prosperous, residential, suburban community located seven miles southeast of Rochester, New York. Pittsford is known for its historic village, fine suburban neighborhoods, and excellent schools. First settled in 1789, the Village of Pittsford contains tree-shaded streets lined with historic homes and a diverse array of specialty retail shops, services, and restaurants. A stone’s throw from Main Street, renovated historic mills and warehouses, and a bustling waterfront promenade overlook the Erie Canal. Outside of the village are older and newer neighborhoods and a vibrant suburban commercial district. Set within Pittsford’s rolling landscape are two college campuses, numerous private golf courses, a fine park system, and farmland.
