Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. SoarnoL division is located in La Porte, Texas, and specializes in SoarnoL Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer (EVOH). Additional manufacturing facilities for SoarnoL are located in Japan and the United Kingdom.
Noltex was formed in June of 1994 and purchased an idled Du Pont EVOH manufacturing facility in La Porte. Noltex began production of SoarnoL resin in early 1996 after retrofitting the first of our plant’s production lines.
Our plant primarily serves the needs of the North and South American markets, and supplements product needs in Oceania, Asia, and Europe. With a total annual production capacity of 38,000 metric tons, our EVOH product line includes a wide variety of specialty SoarnoL grades in order to better meet the increased demand for this unique gas barrier resin.
Job Purpose
Provide leadership to accomplish Maintenance departmental budgeting, goals and
objectives. Develop, review, and approve maintenance schedules, shutdown plans and
preventive maintenance activities while coordinating all parts inventory and maintenance
systems. Direct and manage maintenance projects to ensure their success at meeting their
respective objectives. Maintain and develop a competent and stable department staff.
Responsible for Contractor Safety, Mechanical Integrity, elements of PSM and their proper
implementation throughout the MCA-SNL manufacturing facility. This position must work
closely with the Manager – Technology, Manager-Safety, Manager - Engineering and the
Manager – Operations.
Principal Accountabilities
+ Creating, maintaining. and putting into practice strategies for monitoring, maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance in safety, company policy, and relevant standards to strengthen the Mechanical Integrity program.
+ Team supervision: Leading and providing direction to maintenance team.
+ Optimize maintenance. to improve efficiency in maintenance operations, through the adoption of new technologies and applying principles to remove nonvalue added activities.
+ Manage urgent issues. handling unexpected problems, by coordinating with procurement, venders, operations, technical and engineering, through MOC process, to allow for continuous operations while meeting safety and environmental regulations.
+ Reporting. provides information on OEE, maintenance processes, budget and compliance tracking.
+ Effectively interact and manage a diverse technical workforce.This document is the legal property of Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc.
+ Plan and direct maintenance to ensure projects and tasks remain on budget and on time.
+ Ensure proper implementation and maintenance of assigned PSM elements.
+ Plan and direct the preparation and expenditure of the departmental budget.
+ Coordinate activities with Technology and Engineering and the Operations department to ensure proper communication, implementation of projects and foster teamwork.
+ Assist in the troubleshooting of processes
+ 24/7 on call availability
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related technical discipline.
+ 10+ years’ experience in the management of a maintenance department.
+ Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
+ Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and a diverse workforce.
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Combination of technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, proficiency inmaintenance planning and execution.

+ **The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.**
