    Position: Program Aide

     

    Reports to: Program Director and Program Coordinator

    Position Overview

    The Program Aide plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our Social Adult Day Services (SADS) program. This is a hands-on, people-centered position ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and enjoys working with older adults in a dynamic, supportive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide hands-on support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including walking, escorting, transferring, toileting, and feeding participants.

    + Assist with daily operations, such as checking in with participants or caregivers, setting up program areas, and serving coffee and meals.

    + Safely escort participants between their homes and the program site, including support with agency-provided transportation.

    + Plan, prepare, and facilitate or assist with group activities and recreational programs.

    + Follow agency protocols in emergency situations and accompany participants to medical facilities when needed.

    + Monitor and report physical or behavioral changes in participants to supervisory staff.

    + Shop for program supplies and refreshments as required.

    + Foster a welcoming and socially engaging environment for participants.

    + Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.

    + Follow infection control procedures and maintain participant confidentiality at all times.

    + Provide staff coverage and support across roles as needed.
