Job Title: Medical Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team, focusing on biological specimen preparation, labeling, preservation, and processing. The role involves performing moderate to high complexity tests according to established protocols, assisting in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, and ensuring the preparation and storage of specimens, reagents, and culture media. Additionally, the position requires adherence to documentation and record-keeping standards, maintaining turnaround times for all department assays, and following the laboratory's Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

+ Perform biological specimen preparation, labeling, preservation, and processing.

+ Conduct moderate to high complexity tests in accordance with established protocols.

+ Assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.

+ Prepare and store specimens, reagents, and culture media.

+ Aid in quality control procedures.

+ Monitor and maintain turnaround times for department assays.

+ Adhere to documentation and record-keeping standards.

+ Follow the laboratory's Quality Management System.

+ Collaborate with team members and leadership.

+ Participate in laboratory maintenance activities, including inventory management, biohazardous waste disposal, sterilization of glassware, and keeping the work area organized.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Active license as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a CLIA laboratory.

+ Proficiency in laboratory techniques and medical technology.

+ Knowledge of microbiology techniques.

+ Patient-first, mission-oriented mindset.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science is a plus.

+ ASCP certification.

+ Experience in hematology, chemistry, clinical laboratory, microbiology, blood bank, PCR, and pipetting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a medical lab/diagnostic lab setting. The position involves extensive use of a computer, may require extended periods of sitting or standing, and includes repetitive motions such as pipetting and visual color discrimination. Safety protocols are strictly followed, with some risk of exposure to chemicals, biological substances, sharps, and scientific instruments. We comply with OSHA standards and maintain robust safety and training programs to ensure a secure working environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $80080.00/yr.
