Job Description
The Project Specialist will support North Slope Projects by entering and validating timekeeping data, ensuring bill rates are correctly applied, and verifying alignment with the Personnel mobilization requests (PMR). This position helps maintain payroll accuracy and financial integrity by working closely with project teams to ensure labor charges are correct and the PMR is consistently updated. The ideal candidate demonstrates a high level of accuracy, understands rate structures, and is comfortable working in a dynamic, remote project environment.
Responsibilities
+ Accurately enter and process weekly payroll data for project personnel.
+ Conduct quality checks on time entries, labor coding, and payroll outputs.
+ Ensure bill rates and labor charges align with the most current approved PMRs
+ Update and maintain PMR with current labor force and rate changes.
+ Collaborate with project controls and accounting to resolve discrepancies.
+ Support internal audits and provide payroll-related documentation.
+ Assist with process improvements and system upgrades.
+ Communicate with field and administrative personnel to resolve payroll issues.
+ Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or project administration (construction or remote project experience preferred).
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with payroll system.
+ Knowledge of labor rate structures, payroll compliance, and timekeeping systems.
+ Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
+ Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
+ Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. Steel toed boots required on the job.
