How you will make an impact
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development, production, and quality of TDX Molecular Typing and Antibody Detection product lines! Techniques for genomic DNA isolation and typing, as well as cell line generation, expansion and banking are routinely utilized. Data generation and analysis with sophisticated instrumentation and software require continuous learning. Inventory and information management require meticulous record keeping. Troubleshooting and process improvement present challenges to engaged team members. We are searching for a candidate that will be encouraged to apply their in-depth knowledge and experiences in the HLA field, become a source of expertise to guide and lead discussions, and train junior personnel in a collaborative team environment.
What you will do
+ Isolate Genomic DNA from various sources including blood and established cell lines
+ Conduct commonly used molecular biology techniques such as bacterial growth, plasmid DNA preparation, restriction enzyme digestion, PCR, gel electrophoresis, etc.
+ Characterize DNA and manage inventory
+ Maintain mammalian cell culture including thawing, expansion, characterization, harvesting, freezing, and inventory management
+ Characterize membrane-bound antigen expression using flow cytometry
+ Prepare media, buffers, and reagents
+ Use One Lambda products and research tools for HLA Molecular Typing
+ Compile and analyze data to complete update or report Author and/or edit technical documents for internal and external release
+ Train other team members and provide feedback
+ Perform all activities in compliance with GDP/GMP, regulatory and safety policies
How you will get here
Basic Requirements:
+ B.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology or a related field in Biological Sciences
+ 2 years of post-graduate laboratory experiences in mammalian cell culture
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office
+ Excellent organizational and record keeping skills
+ Capable of multi-tasking and good time management
+ Flexible with changing plans and schedules
+ Good oral and written communication skills
+ People skills that focus on group efficiency
Preferred Requirements:
+ M.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology or a related field in Biological Sciences. .
+ Experiences in HLA molecular typing
+ Experiences in membrane protein expression and characterization with Flow Cytometry
+ Experiences in handling lymphocytes or cell lines of hematopoietic origin
+ Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: General laboratory and office environment, prolonged standing/walking and sitting positions are sometimes required for conducting experiments, data input, and data analysis.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $72,600.00–$108,900.00.
