Human Resources Generalist

Express Employment is seeking candidates for a **Human Resources Generalist** role with a reputable local company. The position oversees daily HR functions—including recruiting, payroll, benefits, leave management, and policy compliance—while fostering a positive, legally compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities

+ Recruit, interview, and coordinate hiring for open positions

+ Administer payroll, benefits, and employee leave programs

+ Track and document mandatory/optional training and certifications

+ Conduct background checks and new-hire onboarding

+ Support performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, and employee recognition programs

+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; update policies as needed

+ Maintain HRIS records and generate routine reports

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)

+ 1+ year of HR experience preferred; SHRM-CP a plus

+ Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems

+ Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

+ Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Physical Requirements

+ Prolonged periods working at a computer

+ Ability to lift up to 15 lbs and navigate multiple departments on site
