Reporting to the Executive Director of Institutional Giving and Grants Management, the **Director, Institutional Giving** is responsible for managing a portfolio of current and prospective private foundation and corporate foundation partners with a focus on delivering ongoing communication and engagement opportunities that build relationships and lead to increasing investment in the work of HMH Foundation. This position will identify and build donor relationships and secure grant funding for critical areas of growth as determined by Hackensack Meridian Health's strategic plan, including network priorities supporting specific growth opportunities such as the Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI) and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and more, as well as support for HMH facility/hospital-specific projects and clinical programs. The ideal candidate for this position will have significant experience building high-touch, long-term relationships with private foundation and corporate foundation donors, as well as demonstrated success soliciting and
securing support.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
+ Baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.
+ 8-10+ years proven track record in securing private foundation and corporate foundation grants, including researching opportunities, development and implementation of grant strategy, preparation of all required materials, excellent writing skills, and expertise with preparation of project budgets, as well as preparation of required reports.
+ Experience in front-line fundraising with foundation and corporate foundation donors and prospects.
+ Knowledge of scientific and medical information preferred.
+ An articulate, genuine touch; professional enthusiasm; ability to innovate and be resourceful; a strong work ethic; superior oral and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Collegial team player able to interact effectively with diverse internal and external constituencies.
+ Effective in a fast-paced environment and eager to contribute to the collaborative goals of an organization.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
+ Handles information ethically, accurately, and confidentially.
+ Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:
+ Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
+ Experience in a healthcare environment, or a closely related field involving grantseeking andrelationship management.
+ Proficiency with Google Office.
+ Experience working with Raiser's Edge and/or other fundraising/CRM management software.
+ Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and understanding of Foundation's common goals.
+ Demonstrates effective, open and timely two-way sharing of grant information, ideas and opinions.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, is highly organized and is deadline oriented
+ Continually seeks opportunities to improve work processes and outcomes.

Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
