Description

We are looking for a dedicated Tax Staff member to join our team in Salinas, California. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in public accounting and a passion for delivering precise and comprehensive tax services. You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, providing expert guidance on tax preparation, financial reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.

• Develop and analyze year-end tax projections for clients, providing tailored advice and strategies.

• Maintain and update trial balances, journal entries, and detailed tax workpapers.

• Utilize QuickBooks to advise clients on recording transactions, generating financial reports, and preparing payroll tax filings.

• Conduct bank reconciliations, record journal entries, and create ad hoc financial reports as needed.

• Draft clear and precise correspondence to clients, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.

• Provide guidance on payroll, payroll taxes, and related tax rules to ensure compliance.

• Offer financial and banking advice to clients, leveraging knowledge of financial markets and financing arrangements.

• Collaborate with clients to address inquiries and provide solutions to their tax-related concerns.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax preparation.

• Proficiency in preparing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.

• Strong understanding of income tax rules and financial reporting standards.

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, including payroll preparation, bank reconciliations, and generating reports.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets effectively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise correspondence.

• Familiarity with payroll tax rules and financial market trends to provide expert client advice.

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
