Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Salinas, California. This role involves overseeing key accounting functions, including preparing financial entries, reconciling accounts, and managing fixed assets. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and document asset, liability, and capital account entries by gathering and analyzing financial data.

• Reconcile financial discrepancies through detailed account analysis and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Oversee daily cash entries, conduct daily bank reconciliations, and ensure accurate payroll journal postings.

• Develop and maintain workpapers and journal entries to support financial reporting processes.

• Manage fixed asset records, including property tax reporting and related compliance.

• Perform freight and rebate analysis to support sales operations and provide actionable insights.

• Collaborate on the development of the annual budget and assist with tax workpapers and associated schedules.

• Generate and analyze monthly borrowing base reports, weekly operational metrics, and other ad hoc reports.

• Serve as a backup for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Grower Accounting functions when needed.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in accounting is desired

• Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.

• Strong understanding of general ledger financial systems; experience with Microsoft Navision is a plus.

• Possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective business relationships.
