**Required Qualifications:** (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral Degree or foreign equivalent degree. Experience with slice electrophysiology, 2-photon imaging, mouse surgical procedures, mouse behavior, extensive knowledge of the basal ganglia and striatum and amygdala. Experience with anterograde and retrograde circuit tracing. Experience with mouse models of compulsive behavior.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using quantitative spatial techniques to characterize neuron distribution.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Joshua Plotkin (https://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/neurobiology/people/faculty\_Joshua\_Plotkin.php#SelectedPublications) in the department of Neurobiology and Behavior (https://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/neurobiology/) . The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The research performed by the incumbent will focus on acquisition and analysis of electrophysiological and 2-photon imaging data as well as behavioral analysis and circuit mapping in the context of compulsive and Parkinsonian behaviors. Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, conduct research experiments in the field of neuroscience, neuromodulation and movement disorders.
• Acquire and analyze data (including electrophysiological, 2-photon imaging and behavioral data from slices and live mice.) Performing mouse surgical procedures. Analyzing changes in basal ganglia neuronal functions, circuit function and neuromodulation that underlie compulsive and Parkinsonian behavior in mice.
• Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or
• presentations. May also assist in grant writing.
• Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance, mouse colony maintenance, and ordering.
• Training of colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Confer

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
