    Responsibilities

    In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy, the Clinical Educator assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, documents and coordinates educational and training programs for the Marian Regional Medical Center staff. When covering the duties of the clinical nurse specialist, the Clinical Educator must demonstrate abilities in the areas of expert clinical practice, education, research, consultation and clinical leadership.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Required

    + A minimum of three years clinical experience. Education/in-service experience required.

    + BSN required (Casual educators must completed a BSN within 2 years of hire).

    + California RN License

    + BLS and ACLS provider certification required.

    Preferred

    + Emergency Dept experience preferred

    + Masters Degree

    + BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor certification required within six months of hire

    + CT PALS; CT NRP

    Special Skills:

    + Ability to effectively teach classes to medical center staff of all classifications.Demonstrates knowledge of adult teaching principles and their application.

    + Ability to work with a team to plan, develop and implement programs to increase knowledge.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Possesses initiative and the ability to work independently.

    + Ability to effectively assess and prioritize educational needs.Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, medical concepts, anatomy and physiology.

    + Ability to promote standards of nursing practice by using them as a framework for teaching, serves as a role model for staff.

    Pay Range

    $46.89 - $68.77 /hour
