At British Swim School, we’re on a mission to reduce childhood drownings through survival-based swim instruction and public education. As aWater Safety Educator, you’ll bring that mission to life in two impactful ways: by engaging with families and children at schools, libraries, and local events, and by supporting families and instructors poolside as part of our operations team.

• What You’ll Do

This is a blended role involvingboth outreach and poolside operations. You’ll help educate the public about water safety and also support smooth, safe experiences for families during swim lessons.

•️ Deliver short, fun water safety presentations to children and families at schools, libraries, camps, and community events

•️ Represent British Swim School at local festivals, fairs, and outreach events

•️ Greet families, assist with check-in, and help manage the flow of swim lessons on the pool deck

•️ Celebrate student milestones and assist with communication to families

•️ Prep and distribute flyers and materials in targeted communities

•️ Collaborate with your manager to coordinate outreach opportunities and shift schedules

• Who We're Looking For

You’re outgoing, organized, and passionate about helping families stay safe. You’re comfortable presenting to groups and also love one-on-one moments of connection with kids and parents.

• Teachers & Youth Educators – You’ve got presence and heart

• Camp Counselors – You know how to keep things fun and structured

• Customer Service Pros – You love being helpful and positive under pressure

• Marketing or Community Engagement Folks – You’re a natural connector

• British Swim School Alums – You understand our mission and want to share it

•️ What You Need to Succeed

• Strong communication and public speaking skills, especially with young children

• Friendly, professional presence for family-facing poolside support

• Availability for a mix of weekday mornings (for outreach) and evenings/weekends (for pool support)

• Reliable transportation to travel between outreach locations and swim school sites

• Organized and comfortable using basic tech (schedule app, attendance tablet, etc.)

• High school diploma (or in progress)

•️ Bonus: Experience in outreach, childcare, or aquatics (not required—we’ll train you!)

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”
