    Position Summary

    Essential Functions

    A Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet established quality standards through testing, inspection, and process improvement.

    + Manage the operation and upkeep of the Document Control System

    + Assist in the management of the calibration system

    + Prepare and conduct internal production/process quality control audits to ensure processes are in control.

    + Maintain accurate records of Quality Assurance activities, including nonconforming products, audits and other administrative responsibilities.

    + Assist in the management and resolution of supplier issues and customer complaints.

    + Create training materials and conduct training sessions.

    + Work closely with other departments to ensure quality standards are met throughout the production process.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    + Education: A high school diploma is preferred. A degree in a related field is preferred.

    + Professional accreditation by ASQ in Quality Engineering or Audition preferred.

    + 4-7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment; prior experience in plastics or continuous process industry desired.

    + Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality standards

    + Strong attention to detail is necessary.

    + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

    + Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards relevant to the industry

    + Proficiency in quality assurance tools and methodologies

    + Proficiency in computer skills utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word and customized programs.

    + Reading, writing and comprehension skills in English.

    + Good interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, customers, etc.

     

    Physical Demands

     

    + Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment, including PC

    + Light lifting and carrying of files, supplies, etc.

    + Ability to speak and hear customers, vendors, and other employees via phone or in person

    + Body motor skills sufficient to move from one office location to another

    + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
