    Summary

    Responsible for leading and directing teams in the management of property acquisition, property disposition, or property management functions, and oversees the analysis, planning, acquisition, management and disposal of land/land rights for SRP’s real property interests. This position develops and implements long and short-term strategic business plans while managing capital and O&M budgets and implementing strategic process improvements to achieve organizational and department objectives and priorities.

    What You'll Do

    + Drive strategic vision and leadership for Land Managers and other professional staff overseeing various land projects.

    + Offer strategic expertise and support in assigned areas (e.g. land acquisitions and condemnation issues, land rights management, fee acquisitions, transmission acquisitions, etc.).

    + Collaborate closely with managers and legal counsel to prepare for and navigate hearings and trials related to land condemnation. Ensure comprehensive education and preparation to achieve favorable outcomes in legal proceedings.

    + Present and advocate for recommended land acquisition and land rights matters and approval items to executive management, the Board of Directors and Councils. Ensure proposals are aligned with organizational objectives and provide comprehensive insights to facilitate informed decision-making at the highest levels.

    + Manages SRP stakeholder and vendor relationships. Oversees the contract deliverables to guarantee high-quality performance and adherence to project timelines. Implement robust accountability measures to ensure vendors meet service delivery standards, efficiency, and productivity expectations.

    + Develop and implement strategic organizational objectives, innovative solutions, and streamlined processes to enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

    + Continuously enhance professional expertise by staying abreast of industry developments and emerging trends in land acquisitions or property management. Leverage expertise to drive strategic initiatives and ensure SRP remains at the forefront of best practices and regulatory compliance.

    What It Takes To Succeed

    + Proven experience managing/supervising and professional utility experience.

    + Proven experience managing land acquisitions, right-of-way, or project management professionals through changing client/customer needs.

    + Proven ability to adapt existing processes to meet the needs of a demanding environment.

    + Demonstrated ability to analyze information, identify workforce trends, diagnose problems and develop solutions.

    + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

    + Must possess a collaborative and growth mindset that emphasizes working together, sharing ideas, and leveraging collective intelligence.

    Experience

    A minimum of eight years of related experience is required (if no degree, 12 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 12 years).

    Education

    A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

     

    Hybrid Workplace

     

    SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
