AdventHealth Systems Emergency Department (ED) is a 38 bed ED 24/7 split flow model emergency department. Our ED is divided into two zones:

+ **Vertical Flow Zone:** Unlike most facilities, our Emergency Department features a 24/7 vertical flow model that sets us apartstreamlining care for lower-acuity patients while enhancing throughput, reducing LWBS, and creating leadership opportunities in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Equipped with recliners instead of traditional stretchers, this area is staffed by exceptional mid-level providers who can quickly assess and treat more than just your typical low acuity patient. .

The role youll contribute:

As a Nurse Manager with AdventHealth Central Texas, you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a faith-based atmosphere. The Nurse Manager (NM) is a registered professional nurse who has the most direct impact on the care and services that patients and families require throughout their hospital experience. The NM is directly responsible to the Emergency Department Director and is responsible for the continual operation of a specified nursing unit. The NM is able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines.

Performs, properly documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with departmental and hospital policy.

Completes assessments and reassessments, including pain scale, response to medication / interventions.

Assesses for and intervenes when abuse or neglect suspected.

Performs treatments and administers medications.

Anticipates needs and plan of care and responds appropriately.

Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.

Interprets and verifies physicians orders correctly.

Demonstrates ability to assess and interpret data relative to patient age (all age groups) and takes appropriate action.

Investigates concerns or challenges and offers suggestions for improvement / correction.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

• A graduate of an accredited school of nursing or degree program, **BSN preferred**

• Current Texas RN License or a Compact RN License from a NCLA Compact State

• **2 years as an ER Manager**

• **Experience in building relationships between Physicians and Nurses**

• BLS certification

• ACLS certification

• PALS certification
