Works closely with HIM Supervisor at both the site and the system level. Serves as expert in all aspects of work area or section.

Essential Functions

+ Coordinates daily work load, staff scheduling, staff assignments and tracks department production.

+ Coordinates training for new employee specific to job function.

+ Serves as point person for staff issues, technical issues, support for physicians and all customers. Monitors scanning, turnaround times, interface issues and works with Supervisor to adjust staffing and follow up. Handles release of information and Birth Certificate issues as they arise.

+ Compiles and distributes monthly reports for all areas of HIM. Follows up on physician delinquent records and coding queries.

+ Processes payroll. Schedules meetings, orders department supplies, assist with audits.

Qualifications

+ Required High School Diploma or equivalent

+ Required Associate's Degree or 4 years of elated healthcare experience.

+ 5 years of relevant experience HIM experience or related healthcare experience. Required
