Machinist - Job Description
As a member of HEICO's Defense Sustainment Team, RMH focuses on providing direct hydraulic support to Navy Ships. Our production facility in Henderson is the heart of the company where we provide engineering solutions and execute complex hydraulic system overhauls. Our East and West Coast Field Service shops provide direct repair and technical assistance support to all fleet concentration areas coupled with a rapid deployment system to provide emergency assistance to deployed ships around the world. RMH Commercial Sales Division provides pump repair capability across the nation serving diverse industries.
Responsibilities
+ Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment
+ Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units
+ Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product
+ Takes measurements of material and selects appropriate machine for the process
+ Follow company standards for work quality and safety
+ Use a computer to prepare and submit accurate reports within an established time frame
+ Communicate effectively and professionally to other employees and supervisors
+ Operate equipment and machinery properly and safely
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education
+ A technical school certificate or associate's degree is considered a plus
+ Nomenclature of tools and hydraulic components
+ Ability to identify which tools and components require calibration and how to determine if the calibration is current
+ Understanding when to use lubricant on threads
+ Safety procedures related to high-pressure fluid power systems
+ Ability to read and follow a disassembly procedure
+ Able to identify critical surfaces of parts
+ Disassemble and clean parts while preserving critical surfaces
+ Operation of polishing lathe to polish small parts
+ Ability to hand lap parts as required and operate the lapping machine
+ Ability to read BOM and assembly procedures
+ Proper tool selection, care and use (Torque Wrench, Caliper, Micrometer)
+ Understands different sealing designs and fitting principles to prevent leaks
+ Demonstrates the ability to complete paperwork (Job Traveler/Work Order) properly
+ Visual and dimensional inspection of components and finished goods
+ Follow basic assembly methods and procedures
+ Observe and record testing procedures
+ Ability to read gauges
