The Pharmacy Department at Hartford Hospital utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams to advice on optimal drug therapy. We also have an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited Pharmacy Residency program, an active Oncology infusion service, and a Retail/Specialty outpatient pharmacy. The Lead Pharmacy Technician provides supervisory oversight of Pharmacy Technicians in our Central Pharmacy to ensure daily requirements are met. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to: · Assist Director of Pharmacy services in Pharmacy Technician scheduling and performance evaluation · Assists pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy operations in order to meet the goals and objectives of the Pharmacy Department. · Coordinate training and onboarding of new Pharmacy Technicians to the Department · Performs various functions on rotational basis in inpatient, outpatient, controlled substance and floor stock drug distribution, intravenous ad mixture preparation, and extemporaneous compounding. Education: · High School Diploma required or equivalent. · Associates Degree in Pharmacy Technician program in preferred. Minimum Experience: · 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital environment Licenses/Certifications: · Current Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred, required within 6 months of hire. · Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection within 30 days of hire and by March 31st of each year.
