Job Title: Sr Director Global Analytical & Process Technology
Summary:The Senior Director, Global Analytical and Process Technology is responsible for providing visionary leadership for a global chemical process technology and analytical organization, consisting of ca. 100 employees at 12 different sites, while offering opportunities for individuals to grow into their responsibilities. This person will be responsible for driving company-wide process technology and analytical chemistry innovation, establishing state of the art unit operations strengthening the cost position and market viability of key product lines. In addition, the person holding this role is the owner of scale up and commercialization of new products as part of Momentive’s new product introduction process, ensuring delivery of robust technology solutions to the market in close co-operation with global manufacturing.
This individual will be responsible for assessing competitive technologies from within the industry and across other related industries to benchmark Momentive’s current state and develop the short and long range plan to support significant advancements in Momentive’s current operation and product portfolio base.
The current organization is composed of highly skilled, multi-disciplined scientists and engineers who are responsible for delivering new chemical process technology, analytical science and manufacturing excellence improvements for Momentive world-wide. The Senior Director Global Analytical and Process Technology will provide strategic technical leadership to drive research and development to innovate leading edge, competitive manufacturing technology.
Responsibilities Include:
+ Serve as a global thought leader and set the vision and overall technical direction for the team through development of a long-term strategy and technology roadmap that is aligned with our business growth strategy and customer needs.
+ Globally lead the innovation of next-generation competitive manufacturing technology. Guide tracking of chemical process technology trends and patent art. Assure strong intellectual property positions and freedom-to-practice for new technologies.
+ Create and manage the global program portfolio, prioritize technical resources, and drive the activities of the global research team to achieve sustainable margin growth.
+ Oversee all MPM pilot facilities globally to achieve excellence in new product scale-up and new process technology development.
+ Drive strategic productivity and capacity initiatives across all sites to maintain competitive cost structure, to support growth, and to improve sustainability.
+ Drive an engaged and motivated organization through continuous and effective communication at all levels. Actively optimize the talent pipeline of leaders and individual contributions through hiring, training, and development programs as well as cross-fertilization of talent beyond the direct reporting line.
+ Champion an open and inclusive organization, where partnership leads to a motivated, engaged, and committed team.
+ Provide process technology leadership for the Global Technology and Global Operations Organizations to ensure continuous improvement in the production of all products and intermediates in accordance with customer quality, timing, and volume requirements.
+ Serve as the EHS ambassador for the Analytical and Process Technology Organization and assume leadership responsibility for both personal and team safety. Embrace Momentive‘s core values, drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and quality excellence within the Technology organization. Assist in leading safety initiatives throughout the labs and plants and ensure efforts of the global team are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
+ Collaborate with manufacturing sites to assure capability to meet customer product needs. Collaborate with product development and marketing to provide new product manufacturing platforms and to assure successful product scale-ups.
+ Collaborate with Quality Control at all sites to develop and implement new analytical test methods to accurately measure the properties of MPM commercial products.
+ Demonstrate leadership in business process improvement by championing tools such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
+ Act as strong change agent. Challenge existing orthodoxies and encourage entrepreneurial thinking.
+ Document knowledge and global best practices to enable transfer to all locations.
+ Lead the organization to operate within budget and on planned schedules.
+ Develop capital investment programs and assist in project execution. Oversee the planning and execution of key aspects of capital projects including engineering evaluation, scope-of-work development, cost estimation, financial forecasting, and analysis. Assist Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews, and commissioning efforts.
+ Manage special projects as needed under the direction of executive leadership
+ Provide process technology consulting to global manufacturing and product technology
+ Continuous assessment of skills and capabilities (equipment and people) required for future success of Momentive technology organization
+ Deliver presentations to Senior Business Leadership to educate and drive awareness of Process & Analytical Technology achievement.
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
+ Advanced degree or related experience required in Engineering, Chemistry, or related Technology field.
+ 15+ years global experience in process technology or chemical manufacturing.
+ Minimum 5 years of relevant technical leadership experience in chemical process technology.
+ Demonstrated ability to think strategically and lead large, complex global initiatives with significant business impact.
+ Must have outstanding process-oriented thinking, and sound engineering approaches.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including those utilized in customer interactions.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills in a team environment. Proven ability to build relationships with key internal and external customers to integrate customer needs into viable manufacturing processes and new product introductions.
+ Staff organization with creative, talented people. Build productive capacity of organization and create an innovative work culture.
+ Demonstrated capability to lead/direct staff in other countries and work effectively in an international cross-functional environment.
+ Demonstrated capability to take initiative to drive change.
+ Demonstrated capability, and passion, to learn new skills and understand grassroots technology while driving innovation.
+ Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing EH&S excellence
+ Proficiency in English language (written and verbal)
The following are preferred for the role
+ PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, or related Technology field.
+ Ability to work across multiple layers of an organization

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $201,500 - $295,350
The actua l salary offered i s determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill set s, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable . Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
