This position is part of the Corporate Security team within the Corporate Affairs Division and is responsible for leading the Enterprise Physical Access Control System and managing the Corporate Badging Office. As a key decision-maker for an essential enterprise-wide security function, this role collaborates with leaders and stakeholders globally to enhance and strengthen security measures.

• Lead physical security projects to ensure alignment with American Airlines security design standards and adherence to operational budgets.
• Oversee daily operations and project implementations to ensure compliance with internal procedures and aviation security controls.
• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and effective integration of security systems.
• Apply industry best practices to complex security design projects and ongoing system operations, promoting consistency while allowing for situational flexibility.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for system failures, vendor challenges, and other project or operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate with Campus Security, Corporate Real Estate, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure successful design execution and installation outcomes.
• Provide leadership with regular updates on project progress and operational performance, including system reliability and vendor accountability.
• Monitor the health and performance of security systems, ensuring continuous operation and rapid issue remediation to minimize disruptions.
• Oversee end-to-end operations of the Corporate Badging Office, ensuring timely, accurate, and secure badge issuance and delivery.
• Maintain and optimize all badging infrastructure, including software, hardware, badge stock, printers, and access control components.
• Supervise Badging Office staff, promoting exceptional customer service and serving as the escalation point for complex badge-related issues.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, staying informed on access control technologies and industry advancements.
• Enforce strict compliance with corporate security policies and access protocols; regularly audit user permissions to mitigate risk.
• Maintain and uphold standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for badge issuance, auditing, and reporting functions.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management
• 4 years of work experience in physical security technology, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
• Previous experience providing customer service
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
• Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with other team members
• Ability to use a computer and prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work under pressure, handle a multitude of tasks, and focus close attention to detail
• Ability to type 40 to 50 WPM as this position requires timely and accurate information
• Ability to work extra hours to meet operational needs
• Ability to provide strong customer service
• Ability to protect the integrity of confidential information
• Honeywell ProWatch Certification
• Industry Standard Certification with ASIS-CPP or PSP
