    TITLE: Mock Trial Sponsor, High School

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Demonstrate aptitude for performing tasks listed

    + Must exhibit high moral values and be able to serve as a favorable example to young people

    + Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

     

    REPORTS TO: High School Activities Director

     

    SUPERVISES: High School Mock Trial students

     

    JOB GOAL: To provide leadership, supervision and organization of the department and to carry out the objectives of the program.

     

    To include helping each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and an increased level of self-esteem.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Recruit an attorney to serve as judge at the competition and to help answer legal questions

    + Conduct team meetings and practices

    + Register team members for tournament

    + Keep parents and team members informed of scheduled practices and scrimmages

    + District rules and procedures of tournament

    + Instruct team members on proper trial decorum and appearance

    + Help students construct case theme and line questioning

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

     

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the appropriate administrator.
