    Summary

    The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved techniques and producing quality scans for physician interpretation.

     

    Specific Duties May Include..

     

    + Reviews medical record for patient history and clinical data for correlation with sonogram

    + Positions patient, explains procedure, and provides patient education

    + Performs ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved protocol Displays knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and/or physiological data to obtain optimal studies

    + Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedure

    Qualifications

    + Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography Program

    + Current ARRT certification and/or Medical Sonography with registry eligibility RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) preferred.

    + Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and produce quality images and follow oral and written instructions. Able to communicate with patients, visitors and employees within the organization.

    + Ultrasound experience preferred
