How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Tax Specialist with strong technology expertise in SAP and Vertex or a similar tax engine to join our dynamic tax team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with sales and use tax laws, leveraging technology to optimize tax processes, and supporting system implementations and upgrades. This role requires a combination of tax technical knowledge, software proficiency, and problem-solving skills to enhance efficiency and accuracy in sales tax operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Use Tax Compliance
+ Manage and support sales and use tax compliance, including tax return preparation, filing, and remittance
+ Research and analyze sales tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions
+ Assist in handling sales tax audits, including responding to notices and inquiries from tax authorities
+ Advise internal stakeholders on sales tax implications for business transactions, system changes, and process improvements
Technology & Systems (SAP & Vertex or Similar Tax Engine)
+ Work with SAP and Vertex or similar tax engine to ensure accurate tax calculations and reporting
+ Collaborate with IT, finance, and tax teams to troubleshoot and resolve tax-related system issues
+ Support implementation and upgrades of SAP and Vertex or similar tax engine for sales tax automation
Process Improvement & Data Analytics
+ Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes using automation and technology
+ Analyze large datasets from SAP to ensure accuracy, detect discrepancies, and enhance reporting capabilities
+ Assist in developing and documenting best practices for sales tax processes and system controls
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Minimum 4 years of sales and use tax experience, preferably in a corporate tax or consulting environment
+ Proficiency working in SAP and Vertex or similar tax engine
+ Strong understanding of U.S. sales and use tax law
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to details in order to analyze large datasets and create reports using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
+ Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, tax, information systems, or a related field
+ Experience with tax automation projects or system implementations
+ Knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, or other data analytics tools for tax data analysis
+ CPA, CMI, or other relevant tax certification
