    Pay: 45-50/hr

     

    Ongoing Contract with the intention to hire directly.

     

    Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Data Center Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of on-premises infrastructure for a large-scale navigation technology company. This role is ideal for a hands-on technologist with deep expertise in virtualization, automation, and systems reliability, who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about driving innovation.

     

    Youll play a critical role in modernizing compute, storage, and automation platforms to ensure scalable, resilient, and secure operations. This is a high-impact position requiring strong technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a forward-thinking mindset.

    Key Responsibilities

    Architect, deploy, and support data center infrastructure including Cisco HX/UCS, Nutanix HCI, VMware vSphere/vSAN, and Cohesity.

     

    Lead modernization initiatives across infrastructure, automation, and disaster recovery.

     

    Automate provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet.

     

    Administer and optimize Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server environments.

     

    Manage core network services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) and collaborate on routing, switching, and firewall configurations.

     

    Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.

     

    Develop and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.

     

    Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineering teams.

     

    Travel as needed to support infrastructure deployments and data center operations.

    Skills and Requirements

    Required Qualifications

    7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or data center operations.

     

    Deep expertise with Cisco HX/UCS, VMware vSphere, Nutanix HCI, and Cohesity.

     

    Strong proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server platforms.

     

    Hands-on experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).

     

    Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).

     

    Scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

     

    Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate across technical and business teams.

     

    Willingness to relocate to one of the designated office locations prior to full-time hire. Preferred Qualifications

     

    Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

     

    Relevant certifications: VCP, RHCE, Nutanix NCP, CCNP, AWS/Azure Associate.

     

    Familiarity with ITIL practices, change management, and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Prometheus).

     

    Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). null
