Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an experienced Industrial Welder to join a global leader of dredging solutions in Baltimore, MD. A dredge is a massive, industrial machine that removes sediment from underwater and transports it elsewhere, so this Welder will work with cutting-edge industrial maritime components. This is a full-time, permanent role with competitive compensation and excellent benefits package.
In this role, the Welder will work on the actual dredge, frequently performing confined space welding and out-of-position welding. To be successful in this role, it is imperative for this individual to have excellent out-of-position welding experience and be comfortable performing both horizontal and vertical welds in different positions. This welder will be welding and fitting assemblies like large bearings, cranes, and housings. This welder will be working predominantly on the dredge, so folks that have experience on barges or hulls will adapt quickly to this environment.
This role requires a weld test as part of the interview process, so all candidates must be comfortable welding at a D1.1-certified level.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Welding industrial maritime structural assemblies out-of-position, most frequently on ladders, platforms, and in confined spaces within the dredge
- Reviewing and using blueprints to complete weld and fit tasks
- Working in a large, industrial plant environment with frequent noise
