Job Description

An employer is looking for a Senior Linux Administrator to sit at Fort Meade. This candidate will manage and maintain multi-user systems in virtualized environments, ensuring stability and performance. Responsibilities include account setup, software installation, storage management, and applying security configurations such as STIGs. A candidate will provide Tiered support, troubleshoot issues, and monitor systems using various tools. The role also involves creating SOPs, collaborating with users and vendors, and offering mentorship to junior staff. On-call and after-hours support may be required based on mission needs.

Compensation:

$55/hr to $60/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

Active TSSCI Clearance

Bachelor's degree and 8years of overall related experience with a Linux server environment. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.

Active IAT level II Certification

Experience with Linux (e.g., RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows, and potentially Solaris servers.

Expertise in virtualization technologies like VMware and experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.

Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, etc.). Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.

Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus.

Experience with a ticketing system such as ServiceNow

ITIL v3 Foundation certified null
