    Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant – Internal Medicine

    Our Internal Medicine team provides expert diagnostic and therapeutic care for complex medical conditions in companion animals. We utilize comprehensive lab work to uncover and manage the root cause of challenging cases. We work closely with clients to develop individualized treatment plans, offering both inpatient and outpatient care with a focus on long-term quality of life.

    About the Job:

    Our Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician's are essential in supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with chronic and complex medical conditions.

    As a Senior Veterinary Assistant in the Internal Medicine department, your responsibilities will include:

    + Providing compassionate care and close monitoring of animals admitted to the internal medicine department.

    + Assisting with diagnostic procedures such as blood collection, imaging preparation, and patient restraint for advanced diagnostics like endoscopy.

    + Administering medications, oral treatments, and fluid therapy as directed by a veterinarian or technician.

    + Communicating with pet owners in a professional and empathetic manner, helping them understand their pet’s condition and treatment plans.

    + Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring that all equipment and treatment areas are clean, organized, and properly maintained.

    + Supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians during procedures such as sample collection and imaging setup.

    + Participating in continuing education and training opportunities to stay informed about developments in internal medicine and patient care.

    + Collaborating with veterinary technicians, veterinarians, and other team members to provide high-quality, comprehensive patient care.

    + Advocating for patient comfort and well-being at all times.

    + Performing other duties as assigned.

    Compensation:

    + Up to $40/hr for licensed Technicians

    + $5.50/hr paid differential for any hours worked between 6pm-6am

    Schedule:

    + Full-Time

    + 4/10 hr shifts

    Basic required qualifications:

    + High school diploma

    + Calm, professional demeanor.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Reliable time management and problem-solving skills; working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital.

    + Multi-task various duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner, with appropriate follow-through and accuracy.

    + Ability to work well independently as well as with a team.

    + Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations

    + High level of venipuncture skills, math calculations, and patient handling

    Preferred qualifications:

    + Experience in Specialty Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on internal medicine.

    + Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician license in the state of California ir preferred
