TYPE OF POSITION: Military non-classified; military waived non-classified

SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the Gowen Field Fire Department (124 CES-CEF, 124 MSG, 124 FW), Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG), functioning within the State of Idaho – Military Division. The primary purpose of this position is to prevent the loss of life and property from fire and to assist in training assigned personnel in firefighting and fire prevention procedures. Incumbent is subject to hazardous and potentially life-threatening situations, uncommon tours of duty, rotating shift assignments and other-than-normal duty hours, wear of special clothing with appropriate markings, and such travel in a mode as may be required in the accomplishment of assigned duties and the organizational mission.

MILITARY DIVISION MANDATORY QUESTIONS:

(2) Do you certify that I am a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or a Foreign National with authorization to work in the United States?

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

(1) Must be an enlisted member of the Idaho Air National Guard Fire Department and qualified as an AFSC 3E771 7-level firefighter or equivalent. Provide your military grade, job title, AFSC, and unit of assignment. This requirement will be waived if current civilian state employee is selected.

(2) Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted state issued driver’s license (from any state) and a military driver’s license. Provide your driver’s license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license. (Do not provide a copy of your driver’s license.)

(3) Must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a favorable T1 Federal Background Investigation. If a selected candidate does not have a current favorable T1, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment. (At a minimum, a favorable suitability determination by the State Security Manager is required prior to appointment into this position.)

(4) Must have and maintain State of Idaho Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. (Attach supporting documentation to your application.)

(5) Must possess the following certification levels by an IFSAC or Pro Board Accredited Program (certifications will have affixed IFSAC or Pro Board numbered seal): Driver Operator ARFF, Driver Operator MWS, Driver Operator Pumper, Fire Officer I, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I, Telecommunicator I/II, and NIMS/ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800. (6) Must possess, or be willing and able to obtain within 12-months of appointment, NGB/A7 required certifications for “Station Captain” IAW AFI 32-2001 ANG Supplement “Master Cooperative Agreement” and DODI 6055.06M as follows: Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, Hazardous Materials Incident Command, and Hazardous Materials Technician. (If applicable, attach supporting documentation to your application.)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must have 12 months of specialized experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below. Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement below that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

(1) Knowledge of proper technical and safety practices relating to the fire protection field.

(2) Knowledge of construction features of installation facilities and aerospace vehicles.

(3) Knowledge of firefighting operations.

(4) Ability to perform heavy lifting and have physical dexterity to maneuver around high and tight places.

(5) Skills and ability to operate and drive all fire department equipment.

(6) Skills and ability to maintain EMT and CPR certifications with the State of Idaho.

(7) Skills and ability to maintain a self-contained breathing apparatus for 15 minutes or longer.
