Are you passionate about working on products that have a positive impact on the technology world? Do you enjoy building large scale applications that are running on huge data sets? Do you value working in an environment where you're empowered to make key technical decisions across a full stack of technologies? If so, a role on the Security UEBA team could be a great fit for you.

We are seeking a technical leader to help deliver Splunk's Security’s User & Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) solution. UEBA is a risk management solution that leverages ML/AI algorithms and behavior analytics to provide comprehensive user and entity insights. By delving into these insights, security teams can identify anomalies and take measures to mitigate potential impacts.

About the User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) Team

We are a passionate team who cares deeply about our customers, our teammates and you. In this role, you will work directly with product management, our design team, our customers and other engineering teams. We have a lean process that focuses on empowering and serving our engineers as opposed to just directing them.

Our team develops software in Python and React and uses modern technologies like Docker, GitLab CI/CD, AWS and many more.

Our Engineering Team operates in the following timezones: Central European Time, Eastern Time, Central Time and Pacific Time. Our team is fully distributed and we welcome English speakers within those timezones.

    What You'll Get To Do:

+ Build customer facing UI’s using our current stack by producing code, tests, documentation; supporting the sprint management process; and communicating effectively with peers and managers.

+ Work closely with Product & UI research teams to advance the usability and experience.

+ Transition the integral legacy applications into self-contained and independent web apps.

+ Create new and improve the existing tools and shared resources that will allow our web applications to scale and evolve without radically diverging from the codebase.

+ Take ownership of frontend technologies in our stack, with a mindset that prioritizes security, resilience, and cross-browser compatibility.

+ Research new tools, frameworks and libraries that would benefit the team, communicate their importance and implement them.

    Must-haves

+ 3+ years experience building and launching successful user-centric products.

+ Live and breathe customer insights and obsess about doing what is right for them.

+ Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrable ability to work across customer success, sales, marketing and engineering teams and influence senior leaders.

+ A deep understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript, CSS and HTML.

+ Experience with technologies in our stack: React, React Context, Styled Components, Webpack, Jest, Storybook, Cypress etc.

+ Experience building single-page, data-heavy web applications, and asynchronous data handling using REST APIs.

+ Experience with an Agile DevOps engineering environment that effectively uses CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)

+ Have a clear understanding of UX design principles and experience working with customers and team members as part of a design process.

+ Have a solid understanding of micro-frontend architecture and experience working with module federation.

+ Ability to architect technical solutions at a high level as well as dive into the implementation.

+ Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal direction, a sense of intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability, and positivity.

+ High Level understanding of some of our backend technologies: Python, stream processing, data analytics.

+ This role comes with an on-call shift schedule, up to 20% of time.

Base Salary Range $119,100.00 to $156,500.00

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location.

    What We Offer You:

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period.

Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.

    Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%; 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

We value diversity at our company. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or any other applicable legally protected characteristics in the location in which the candidate is applying. We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
