Description
The Senior IT Project Manager – Network and Telecom is responsible for leading the successful delivery of multiple, concurrent infrastructure projects from initiation through closure. This role involves defining project objectives and scope, developing detailed plans, acquiring and managing resources, and ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
The Sr. IT PM will oversee a program of Telecom and Network infrastructure initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Strong experience in managing Telecom and Network projects is essential.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills—both verbal and written—and the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. They must demonstrate a commitment to quality, attention to detail, and possess strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Leadership qualities such as adaptability, flexibility, and a proactive approach to change are key to success in this role.
+ Lead the successful execution and delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
+ Collaborate with functional and operations managers to assign appropriate resources to each project.
+ Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle—from initiation and planning to execution, delivery, and closure.
+ Manage daily project operations, including coordination of tasks, resources, and timelines.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation such as schedules, budgets, detailed plans, scope statements, work breakdown structures, cost estimates, resource allocations, risk and issue logs, and status reports.
+ Monitor and manage project financials, including forecasting, invoice processing, budget tracking, and variance reporting.
+ Oversee procurement activities, including purchase order management, invoice reconciliation, and inventory tracking for deployed assets.
+ Facilitate and document project meetings with internal teams and stakeholders to support planning and execution.
+ Simultaneously manage a portfolio of 6 or more projects, typically involving small, focused teams.
+ Coordinate with other project managers to ensure alignment with broader business and operational initiatives.
+ Lead steering committee meetings with IT and business leadership to provide updates and drive decision-making.
+ Conduct technical and requirements-gathering sessions, fostering collaboration and shared understanding among stakeholders.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring clear communication.
+ Coordinate with third-party vendors and integration teams to support testing and implementation efforts.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships across departments to support project success.
+ Foster a high-performing project team environment by mentoring junior team members, removing roadblocks, and holding team members accountable for quality and delivery.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Formal training in PMI’s PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge).
+ 1–4 years of relevant experience managing Network and Telecom projects, including at least one year in a dedicated project management role.
+ Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, organizational excellence, and effective problem-solving.
+ Demonstrates leadership capabilities, including adaptability, flexibility, and a proactive approach to change.
