Description
We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join an established Real Estate group within a large firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in legal support, particularly in real estate transactions, multifamily housing loans, or general legal practice. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with a lead attorney in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to the lead attorney specializing in multifamily housing loans and real estate transactions.
• Draft, review, and organize legal documents such as loan agreements, real estate contracts, and other transactional materials.
• Utilize and modify templates for legal drafting while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Conduct research and gather necessary documentation related to real estate transactions and multifamily housing.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
• Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and maintain accurate records for the attorney and related transactions.
• Ensure all legal documentation is properly filed and maintained in accordance with office protocols.
• Assist in preparing reports and summaries related to ongoing cases and transactions.
• Provide general administrative support, including handling correspondence and managing office supplies.
• Collaborate with team members to address any challenges or urgent needs within the office.
Requirements • Proven experience in legal support roles, preferably with a focus on real estate or transactional practice.
• Familiarity with real estate terminology, loan documents, and general legal documentation.
• Ability to draft and edit legal documents using templates or from scratch.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing schedules and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Proficiency in office software and tools for document management and scheduling.
• Experience in a law firm environment, with litigation experience considered a plus.
• Availability to work the required hours for the duration of the contract (6-8 weeks, with potential for extension).
