Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Paralegal to join our team in Plano, Texas. This long-term contract position offers a dynamic opportunity to manage high-volume litigation, support internal and external legal counsel, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives across the retail industry. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and mentoring less experienced legal staff.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage a nationwide litigation docket, including consumer complaints, subpoenas, attorney demand letters, arbitration demands, and class-action lawsuits.
• Conduct case intake, apply litigation holds, and perform comprehensive investigations to support legal proceedings.
• Draft detailed case assessments, organize exhibits for trial preparation, and coordinate deposition processes.
• Negotiate and finalize settlement agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and resolution of disputes.
• Respond to bankruptcy filings and liaise with debtor’s legal counsel to address claims.
• Prepare formal responses to regulatory complaints and audits, collaborating with compliance teams to address emerging trends.
• Handle consumer subpoenas by gathering, redacting, and producing documents in accordance with legal requirements.
• Provide legal guidance on nationwide civil procedures and develop strategies for small claims cases.
• Lead and mentor less experienced legal staff, offering training and support to enhance team performance.
• Monitor litigation metrics and identify potential legal risks, ensuring proactive measures are implemented. Requirements • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of relevant legal experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Legal Tracker™ is highly desirable.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus.
• Strong research, analytical, and organizational abilities to manage complex cases effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills to support entry-level legal staff.
