Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Thornton, Colorado. This is a contract position requiring a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage high-volume tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities:
• Handle full-cycle accounts payable processes, including two- and three-way matching, and ensure proper approvals for non-purchase order invoices.
• Reconcile invoices against purchase orders using an automated accounts payable workflow system.
• Process vendor payments promptly while resolving any discrepancies in collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Set up new vendors and maintain vendor master records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
• Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal teams with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Process employee expense reports efficiently and in compliance with company policies.
• Reconcile vendor statements, identify issues, and address discrepancies proactively.
• Apply appropriate sales and use tax rates to transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Investigate and resolve vendor disputes and operational inquiries effectively.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and assistance as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice reconciliation and vendor management.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
• Strong understanding of account coding and related accounting functions.
• Ability to manage high-volume tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for resolving vendor and internal inquiries.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax application in accounts payable.
• Experience with handling audits and providing necessary documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
