Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail-driven PART TIME (20 hours/week) Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Bloomington, Minnesota. This position requires expertise in managing full-cycle, multi-state payroll processes and benefit administration for a diverse workforce. The ideal candidate will excel in ensuring compliance with labor laws, handling HR-related tasks, and using advanced payroll systems to streamline operations.
Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal regulations.
• Maintain and update payroll records, reports, and tax filings while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries promptly and effectively.
• Facilitate onboarding processes by setting up payroll and benefits for new hires and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Manage offboarding procedures, including final payroll and benefits disbursement.
• Administer employee benefits during open enrollment periods and throughout the year, ensuring timely enrollment and issue resolution.
• Support HR compliance efforts by adhering to wage and hour laws, employee classifications, and other legal regulations.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and expense reporting to ensure accurate accounting.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to integrate payroll data seamlessly into financial systems.
• Assist in implementing HR strategies to optimize payroll and benefits processes.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, HR, and benefits administration.
• Proven experience managing multi-state payroll with knowledge of state-specific labor laws.
• Proficiency in Paycom software and advanced payroll systems.
• Strong accounting skills, including payroll reconciliations and journal entries.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle complex tasks.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills for managing sensitive payroll and HR issues.
• Familiarity with HR compliance, onboarding, and benefit enrollment processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
The role is a hybrid position in Minnesota.
