Description We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is vital in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting key accounting processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to monthly close activities by preparing general ledger journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reports.

• Perform detailed account analysis, investigate variances, and resolve any discrepancies.

• Accurately prepare inventory-related balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis.

• Maintain and update the general ledger and associated journals, including processing monthly and year-end accruals.

• Establish and manage item setups, including calculating standard costs and maintaining intercompany pricing for Wholesale and Retail divisions.

• Collaborate with warehouse and wholesale operations teams to analyze financial reports and address issues.

• Assist with the year-end financial statement audit by providing necessary documentation and support.

• Serve as a backup for other accounting roles when required.

• Identify opportunities to improve or streamline existing accounting processes.

• Support special projects and perform additional tasks as directed by Controllers. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or retail environment.

• Proficiency in corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

• Solid understanding of journal entries and general ledger management.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve variances.

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work across teams.

• Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost calculations is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
