Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Strongsville, Ohio. This is a Contract position requiring on-site availability from 8 AM to 5 PM. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting the organization’s payment operations.
Responsibilities:
• Verify invoices and supporting documentation to ensure compliance prior to initiating payments.
• Handle daily cash management tasks such as recording bank deposits, updating cash receipt logs, and posting transactions to the accounts receivable ledger.
• Maintain accurate accounts receivable records using Macola Progression software, including applying credits and collections, accounting for uncollectible amounts, and resolving discrepancies.
• Perform monthly closing of the Accounts Receivable module, verifying billing completion, cash receipt posting, and reporting accuracy.
• Communicate payment discrepancies, slow-paying clients, and collection recommendations to management.
• Build relationships with clients by addressing inquiries and following up on past-due accounts.
• Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to streamline accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Provide backup support to the receptionist as needed.
• Collaborate on accounting and finance projects with other team members. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three years of accounting experience, particularly in accounts payable and receivable.
• Solid understanding of fundamental finance, accounting, and bookkeeping principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Intermediate Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Macola Progression software is preferred.
• Experience with data entry, invoice processing, and account reconciliation.
• Knowledge of systems such as Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is a plus.
