Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and analytical Senior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team within the medical industry. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations, supporting financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and health industry regulations. This position requires advanced proficiency with SAP to manage and optimize financial systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
+ SAP Utilization: Utilize SAP ERP systems (such as FI/CO modules) to monitor financial transactions, streamline accounting processes, and generate reports.
+ General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring timely reconciliation and accurate entries for all accounts.
+ Month-End/Quarter-End Close Processes: Lead and execute closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
+ Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in developing and analyzing budgets and forecasts, providing insights to improve financial planning processes.
+ Audit Preparation and Support: Ensure proper documentation and assist with internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
+ Compliance Assurance: Monitor and adhere to company policies, healthcare regulations, and industry standards while conducting accounting activities.
+ Expense and Revenue Management: Analyze operational expenses and revenue cycles for key insights and cost-saving opportunities.
+ Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a financial advisor by collaborating with other departments such as operations, billing, and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost tracking.
+ Continuous Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting systems, particularly within SAP.
Requirements
Requirements:
+ Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the medical, healthcare, or pharmaceutical industry.
+ SAP Proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience using SAP ERP systems, including modules for financial reporting and controlling (FI/CO).
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
+ Technical Skills:
+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros, and financial modeling).
+ Familiarity with healthcare compliance (HIPAA and other relevant regulations) is a plus.
+ Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail in all financial tasks.
+ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
+ Adherence to Deadlines: Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion in a deadline-driven environment.
+ Industry Knowledge: Understanding of financial workflows specific to the medical or healthcare industries (e.g., revenue cycles, billing systems, and claims reconciliation).
