    Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to manage and process payroll for approximately 250 employees using Paycom software. The ideal candidate will oversee payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely payments, compliance with legal regulations, and provide excellent support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with strong knowledge of payroll processes and Paycom experience who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Process full-cycle payroll for 250 employees on a biweekly basis using Paycom.

    + Ensure all payroll transactions are accurately entered, reviewed, and processed in a timely manner, including regular pay, bonuses, and adjustments.

    + Verify timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies to ensure correctness before finalizing payroll.

    + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including tax withholding, unemployment insurance, and wage and hour regulations.

    + Manage employee data in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, benefits deductions, direct deposits, and tax status changes.

    + Provide exceptional customer service by addressing employee questions or concerns about pay, taxes, deductions, and benefits reconciliation.

    + Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting teams to ensure consistency between payroll, benefits, and organizational policies.

    + Generate payroll reports and analytics for management review and audits as requested.

    + Assist with year-end activities, such as processing W-2s, and ensure all records are accurate and compliant.

    + Stay informed about current payroll and tax regulations and best practices.

    Requirements

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably with mid-sized organizations (200-500 employees).

    + Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Paycom payroll software is required.

    + Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred in accounting, business administration, or a related field.

    + Knowledge: Solid understanding of payroll laws, including FLSA, benefits deductions, wage garnishments, and tax regulations.

    + Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    + Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.

    + Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables) and other Microsoft Office applications.

    + Customer Service: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll data with a high degree of professionalism.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Payroll certification (e.g., FPC, CPP).

    + Knowledge of additional HRIS systems or experience streamlining payroll and HR system procedures.

    + Experience assisting with audits or compliance reviews related to payroll.
