Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This long-term contract position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic retail organization by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage high volumes of data and vendor communications.
Responsibilities:
• Process and review invoices for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company policies.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to ensure proper documentation.
• Assign accurate account codes and cost center designations to invoices.
• Address invoice discrepancies promptly to ensure on-time vendor payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any payment-related issues.
• Conduct research to identify and resolve exceptions or discrepancies in financial data.
• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions and documents.
• Assist with month-end closing activities by ensuring all payable transactions are recorded properly.
• Respond to vendor inquiries with clear and precise communication regarding payment statuses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support smooth financial operations and process improvements. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Oracle or Dynamics 365 and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial records.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality.
